Lyrics

I gave him a flower from my garden
and he threw it away. "I'm sorry" he said.
So I gave him another, trusting in his goodness
never to do it again.

Up from the worn out soil grew more flowers
and soon they were found, he trampled them down.
Growing twisted and gnarled, dwarfed by his pruning
struggling to stay alive.

So I put up a fence, planted a hedge
I have no reason to fear anymore.
I soak up the sun, drink in the rain,
more beautiful than I have ever been.

I've been so patient, I know I'm not perfect.
My Father says I am worthy of more.
He tells me He loves when I wear my true colors,
That's when I make Him smile.
